My desk from when I was a Campground Manager. There was no cell service so the black telephone was my only way to communicate. Halfway through the summer, a bad storm came through and our underground phone line got damaged, so then we lost that phone, too. In the sole emergency from that summer, it took almost an hour for emergency services to arrive so I don’t think the phone was that important anyway.
I got over the lack of cell service when I saw how beautiful this park was. No photo could ever capture it. I’ll never forget how beautifully the sun hit the water and lit up the trees. I felt like I was in a fairytale.
