Throughout the semester, I became comfortable with using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. With the various types of assignments I was tasked with, I have learned the many tools that these Adobe software provide, from an artistic to a practical standpoint. Below, I have provided screenshots of my designs and projects.

Expressive Typography – Adobe Illustrator
As an assignment, we were tasked to follow a design approach that uses visual qualities of words to convey the meaning of those words – Expressive Typography. We can express meaning very easily by manipulating the word forms and transforming letters. As a result of this assignment, I have gained familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and expanded my knowledge of design.

Flyer – Adobe InDesign
In this assignment, we were tasked to create a flyer using Adobe InDesign. In this assignment, I learned how to use the Color Theme Tool, opacity changes, and rule of thirds.
Book – Adobe InDesign
In this assignment, we were tasked to create some spreads in the format of a book; very accurately to how books are actually formatted for publishing. I learned a lot about paragraph and character styles to easily adjust the different types of text such as titles, author name, intro paragraphs, regular body texts, and page numbers.
Magazine – Adobe InDesign
In this assignment, we were tasked to create a magazine. Since magazines are a great medium to display design skills, we used what we learned in both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign to create this piece. I used concepts from the avatar, flyer, and book assignments in a way to create cohesive magazine spreads.
