We will review searches for new heavy neutral leptons (HNL) performed recently by the ATLAS collaboration at the LHC. We will review direct searches for these HNL in DY and ttbar production, as well as indirect searches in same-sign WW scattering. Searches including displaced signatures will be presented. Possible future efforts will be discussed.
