Graduate School: *Are you interested in Graduate School? Are you interested in figuring out whether you’re interested in Graduate School? This group is working to put together workshops and to support majors who are interested in, or are in the process of, applying to graduate school.  We’re planning discussions on: 1) What to do when: take GRE, research programs, APPLY, etc. 2) The difference between Academic Programs and  Professional/ vocational graduate programs, 3) what makes a good graduate school application (and what  to avoid ), 4) finding the right program for you, 5) whatever else the group would like to discuss

Study Abroad: Do something different! Students in this group will promote and provide information about studying abroad to Sociology majors. This will include organizing panels of sociology students returning from abroad to share their experiences and to have study abroad nights for students interested in studying in a specific region.

Community Service: Do some good! This group will identify opportunities for Sociology majors to give back to the community. They will also encourage their fellow sociology majors to donate their time and services to organizations in the surrounding areas. This may take the form of a group of students working on a discrete project in the community, fundraising for a cause, raising awareness about a local issue, etc.

Faculty-Student Connections: Get to know your Professors!! This group is trying to find new ways for undergraduates to connect to Sociology faculty. The group is working to identify faculty to talk with undergraduates about their work, about the importance of sociology in their lives, or how they became interested in the field.

Internships/ Careers: Get out of here!! This group is identifying interesting opportunities for Sociology majors to get out of the classroom and into the field through internships and, eventually, through a satisfying career. Students are organizing alumni/ internship/ career panels for current majors and doing research on various organizations relevant for Sociology Majors.
