Policies and Procedures

Use of the MAPT-CCR is governed by a number of policies and procedures.

In Massachusetts, programs must adhere to the Assessment Policies set forth by the Adult and Community Learning Services unit of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Staff from the Center for Educational Assessment maintain a website of additional administrative resources to support use of the MAPT-CCR in Massachusetts. On the ACLSTestHelp site you will find Massachusetts-specific guidance including:

Some general MAPT-CCR policies include:

  • Students can complete a single MAPT-CCR test in multiple sessions, and they have two weeks from when they first begin a test to complete it. They cannot revisit previously completed items, but when they log back in, they will continue from where they left off, within a 14-day window.
  • A minimum of 60 days must pass between MAPT-CCR test administrations.
  • Students are limited to taking each content area of the MAPT-CCR three times in a fiscal year.
