Our Shared Futures: The Language of Sustainability

The School of Earth and Sustainability, The Anthropocene Lab, and the Environmental Humanities Initiative at UMass Amherst are excited to welcome faculty, staff, and graduate students to an event entitled “Our Shared Futures: The Language of Sustainability.” The event will be held on the 1st of November (Friday) from 2-4 PM in the Design Building, Room 170. It will be followed by light snacks and refreshments. Registration is required for this event.

Politicizing the Anthropocene

The Anthropocene Lab will be hosting its next “Thinking the Earth” seminar on the topic of “Politicizing the Anthropocene.” Three short papers, from the social sciences and the humanities, will be followed by an open discussion on how to address the political challenges of the present from the vantage point of Anthropocene discourses. Topics will range from climate coloniality and global governance to indigenous sovereignties and environmental justice.
