Object Drawing Research
Materials:
- 18×24 drawing paper (watercolor or printmaking paper are also acceptable, newsprint is not)
- drawing media (any/all/wet/dry/mixed/your choice)
As you begin Material Study 1 observe the nature of your material. Study the grain, the rings, the way light and shadow are created as you manipulate it. Pause somewhere between a store-bought piece of lumber and your completed Material Study to create at least one large drawing of your material. What aspects of the material become apparent as you sit with it now?
Requirements:
- Study the material
- Activate the entire page
- Don’t be boring
