Too Many Books

Beginning this September, the North Brookfield Public Library Book Group will be trying a new format for choosing titles to read: each member has been asked to come up with some suggestions, and we’ll pick our selections a season at a time, instead of at each monthly meeting. Over the next few weeks or months, I’ll try to put a list together, or maybe two lists, one for fiction and the other for nonfiction. So far, this is what I’ve come up with:

Fiction

  • Reunion-Fred Uhlman
  • The Odd Sea- Frederick Reiken
  • Sophie’s World-Jostein Gaarder
  • The Windup Bird Chronicle-Haruki Murakami
  • Imagining Argentina-Lawrence Thornton

Nonfiction

  • Endurance-Alfred Lansing
  • Silent Spring-Rachel Carson
  • Cadillac Desert-Marc Reisner
  • Border Passage-Leila Ahmed
  • Omnivore’s Dilemma-Michael Pollan
