Observations
- Norfolk is the world headquarters of the animal rights organization PETA.
- The extent of commercial shipping and military activity in the harbor is staggering.
- The cruise ship captain bombarded us with statistics which I won’t attempt to summarize.
- One procedure he mentioned that I had never heard of is “de-magnetizing” a ship.
- As you can see from the photos below, I was really impressed by the cranes!
- There is no admission charge to the centrally-located Chrysler Art Museum.
- The Museum’s collection is impressive and a must-see for glass aficionados.
- The self-guided Native Tree Trail is easy to follow and presents interesting tree facts.
