I got up at 4:15 this morning, was out of the house by 4:40, and arrived at the airport in time for a 7:20 departure. I flew Southwest from Hartford to Chicago Midway and then on to Sacramento. I felt like I had been in the air for hours, but it was before noon, California time, when we landed. After lunch, my sister and I worked in her yard and then went to swim in the outdoor pool at her health club.
In the evening, we drove downtown and found parking at a meter, then walked the short distance to Raley Field. Sacramento played Las Vegas in an exciting game that went into extra innings. Finally, the River Cats prevailed over the 51s 4-3 in the 10th. We had good seats, but we were still about half-way up the first set of risers, so I tried using my zoom to get some pictures. These two of Sacramento at bat were the best I could do. These are both thumbnails, so you can click on each to view a larger image.
By the time the game ended, the night air had turned quite chilly, so we hurried over the bridge back to the car, pausing just long enough to watch most of the fireworks display. I didn’t try taking photos, though they would have been quite impressive.
