Home
I live in rural North Brookfield, about 17 miles west of Worcester. Our town was incorporated into the Commonwealth in 1812. Prior to moving to Worcester County, I lived in Northampton in Hampshire County, where I still own a unit at Coachlight Condominiums. During most of the 1980’s, I lived in the Fenway section of Boston, our state capital.
Family
I have two sisters, one older and one younger — I’m the “one in the middle”! Debbie, the elder, lives with her family in Hawaii; Marti, the younger, lives in northern California. My mom, Bette, recently passed away at age 86. My two nieces, Amelia and Miranda, are twenty-seven and twenty-five.
Lina (pronounced “Lee-nah”) and Brianna came to me from a family in Barre. They are sisters but not best friends. Both cats love to play and also enjoy relaxing in their new cat beds. They are both beautiful Siamese with the classic seal-point pattern. I wish I had a better camera, as these OPPs (Obligatory Pet Photos) don’t quite do them justice!
Work
I have worked in the field of higher education, in various capacities at different schools, for most of my professional life. About fourteen years ago, in between schools, I completed a short stint in the health care industry, as a DBA for the Fallon Healthcare System, a group medical practice and HMO in Central Massachusetts. I am currently a Database Administrator at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
