Welcome to Creative Economies

Digital storytelling sheds light on local meanings of creative economies. Through our digital storytelling workshops, we collaborate with community members in Western Massachusetts to tap creative impulses, enhance economic possibility, and ultimately build dignified lives.

The stories themselves cultivate creative economies. They offer a nuanced take on creative economic endeavors—including those activities that may be hidden or undervalued. Digital stories give voice to diverse forms of economic activity. They also help people find their place in their community as a creative process. In this sense, they build community. They create possibility.

In making their stories, workshop participants develop digital media skills to portray and promote their creative economic endeavors and network with other local makers, creators and entrepreneurs at interactive screenings and skill-sharing events.
