Katharine (Kate) E. Jensen
Professor Katharine E. Jensen earned her A.B. in Physics at Princeton in 2004, then spent two years as a researcher at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. After completing her Ph.D. in Physics at Harvard in 2013 studying structures and defects in hard-sphere colloidal crystals and glasses, she held a postdoctoral appointment that began at Yale in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and later moved to the Department of Materials at ETH Zürich.
More recently, she returned to ETH as a Visiting Professor of Materials in January 2018. She has been an Assistant Professor of Physics at Williams College since Fall 2017, where her lab’s research focuses on the mechanics of soft materials and deformable interfaces.
