WHAT TO PREPARE
Please come to auditions with 30 sec to 1 min of any song of your choosing.
(No musical theater please!)
As a part of auditions, we will also being going through a brief range test and pitch matching after your solo song. You do not need to prepare anything for this, just your solo song.
No need to sign up ahead of time, just show up to Herter Hall rm. 112 during any of the audition times and fill out an audition form!
Auditions will run from February 6th-9th, and callbacks will be on February 10th. If you receive a callback, you will receive an email on February 9th AFTER auditions have concluded. More info regarding callbacks will be included in the email, should you receive one 🙂

FAQs
What genre of music should I sing at auditions?
You are totally free to sing a song from any genre you would like! We prefer that auditionees stray from singing any musical theater songs, as that is not in our usual repertoire. As a group, our style is mostly pop and jazz pop. Audition cuts should be around 32 bars (30 seconds to 1 minute)
How often are rehearsals?
Duly Noted rehearses three times a week for two hours each rehearsal. Our schedule changes from semester to semester based on the availability of our members, though we have stuck to a Sunday, Tuesday, & Thursday schedule for the past few semesters. Rehearsals are mandatory, though we are always flexible with conflicts!
How many groups can I audition for?
There are currenlty 9 A Cappella groups at UMass, and you are welcome to audition for as many as you would like! We all hold auditions on the same days (audition times vary from group to group) in Herter Hall. The UMass groups work with each other to make sure that the audition/callback process is as stress-free as possible for those who are auditioning for multiple groups!
