PhotoLock
Abstract: Images and videos, which were once reliable sources of information, are increasingly being used as a medium to manipulate society through sophisticated photoshop tools and AI. Platforms like Twitter, which boasts over 500 million active users, alongside major news outlets, are often duped into sharing photoshopped images and lifelike deepfakes. The negative impact of altered or AI generated visuals on society includes political disruption, economic disruption, body dysmorphia, and proliferation of conspiracy theories. As the boundary between authentic and altered media blurs, the need for a robust solution to tie photos and videos back to specific users and devices has never been more critical. Our system provides a scalable infrastructure for taking, uploading, and verifying authentic media.
