Two tools commonly used by librarians are now trial in their online iterations. Choice Reviews provides reviews of books and electronic resources suitable for academic library audiences. It provides lists of outstanding academic titles for each year, as well as monthly segments covering titles published in different academic disciplines, hot topics and an editor’s pick. You can browse through the monthly issues or search for reviews by keyword, author, publisher, etc. The trial lasts through April 17th, 2009.
Guide to Reference provides bibliographic data and annotations for over 16,000 print and online reference sources. You can browse or search by subject and type of resource. This database is on trial through April 13th, 2009.
