New Online Computer Technology and Business E-Book Collections

The Libraries now have a subscription to ProQuest SAFARI Books Online. Safari Books Online provides access to more than 20,000 digital books on Computer Technology and Business topics, ranging from programming to IT networking to project management to graphic design to business strategy. The content includes code snippets, certification preparation materials, practice exercises, and much more. Users can search thousands of books simultaneously online.

Synthesis Computer and Information Science Collection Added

The Libraries have recently purchased the Synthesis Computer and Information Science Collection Four, a subject sub-collection of the Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science Collection Four. The Libraries also have Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science Collections One, Two, and Three. Each lecture is in an e-book format and covers a research or development topic. Topical series include Algorithms and Software in Engineering, Artificial Intelligence in Machine Learning, Biomaterials, Data Management, Semantic Web: Theory and Technology, Synthetic Biology, and many more.

Additions to Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science

The Libraries has purchased Collections Two and Three of the Morgan & Claypool Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science. The Digital Library contains over 300 lectures  about topics under research and development. The lectures are 50-100 pages in length, organized into over 40 series ranging from biomaterials to computer vision, quantum computing and tissue engineering. You can browse through lectures in the series or conduct keyword searches.

New Electronic Book Collection: Springer eBook Collection

The Libraries have purchased a collection of book series, major reference works and monographs and textbooks published by Springer between 2005 – 2009. The collection of 15,590 works covers:

  • biomedical & life sciences
  • business & economics
  • chemistry & material sciences
  • computer science
  • earth & environmental science
  • engineering
  • humanities, social sciences & law
  • mathematics
  • medicine
  • physics & astronomy
  • professional computing & web design.

The most titles are available in the computer science, engineering and mathematics disciplines. Individual title records will be available in the UMass Amherst library catalog, and the SpringerLink site offers a search interface for all that Springer has to offer. Items to which the UMass Amherst community has access are denoted with a green box.

Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science

Published by Morgan & Claypool, the Synthesis Digital Library collects peer-reviewed and authoritative reports and lectures on important research and new developments in the fields of engineering and computer science. This collection includes 100 current reports and lectures.
