Trial for Oxford Islamic Studies Online

The Libraries now have a trial for Oxford Islamic Studies Online, a database providing full-text of The Oxford Encyclopedia of the Modern Islamic World, The Oxford History of Islam, The Oxford Dictionary of Islam, two interpretations of the Qur’an, a Concordance of the Qur’an, What Everyone Needs to Know about Islam, and the Oxford Encyclopedia of the Islamic World.

Trial for CAB E-Books

The Libraries now have a trial for CAB e-books published by CABI since 2000. The entire CAB collection includes over 500 titles covering the applied life sciences, with collections of titles in agriculture; animal and veterinary science; environmental life sciences; human health, food and nutrition; leisure and tourism; and plant sciences.

Trial for Digital National Security Archive

The Libraries have a trial for  the Digital National Security Archive which includes collections of declassified government papers. Among the 38 current collections are:

  • The Cuban Missile Crisis, 1962
  • El Salvador: War, Peace, and Human Rights, 1980–1994
  • Afghanistan: The Making of U.S. Policy, 1973–1990
  • China and the United States: From Hostility to Engagement, 1960–
  • South Africa: The Making of U.S. Policy, 1962–
  • Presidential Directives on National Security, Part 1: From Truman to Clinton
  • Kissinger Telephone Conversations: A Verbatim Record of U.S. Diplomacy, 1969-1977
  • U.S. Military Uses of Space, 1945–1991

You can search within the documents and their bibliographies, by date and topic, and by an overall keyword search. The database provides comprehensive indexing and full-text is available via scanned documents.

Trials: American History in Video, Anthropology Online, Manuscript Women’s Letters and Diaries

The Libraries are offering trials for three Alexander Street Press databases through April 8th, 2012:
