Trial for Caribbean Literature
Caribbean Literature from Alexander Street Press brings together poetry and fiction from the 19th and 20th centuries written by hundreds of authors from the Caribbean or writing about it. Texts are presented in the original English, French, Spanish, Dutch, and various Creole languages. You can browse the collection by author, place or genre, or search language, publisher, date, keyword, race, gender and more.

East German Films from UMass Amherst’s DEFA Film Library Now Available
The Libraries have purchased the streaming video collection of East German films curated by the Professor Barton Byg of the UMass Amherst Languages, Literatures & Cultures department. The DEFA Collection on the Kanopy platform contains over 100 films (and growing) made by East German filmmakers or about East Germany since 1946.

Included in our two volumes are over 420 adult comic and graphic novel series and 1,900 books with interviews and critical essay. Trials for 3 Resources on the Ukraine
The Libraries have on trial from East View Information Services three databases covering the Ukraine:
- Statistical Publications of the Ukraine – Statistical data on key economic, social, and environmental trends and developments in Ukraine published by the State Statistical Services of Ukraine. Please provide your feedback.
- Ukraine Parliamentary Election 2012 – Ephemera and primary source material documenting the contentious Ukrainian Rada elections of October 28, 2012. Please provide your feedback.
- Ukrainian Publications – Newspapers and magazines of Ukraine (UDB-UKR) including publications in Russian, Ukrainian, and English. Please provide your feedback.

New Directory: Grants and Awards Available to American Writers
The PEN America association of writers produces a directory of approximately 1,500 domestic and foreign literary grants, awards, fellowships and residencies. You can search the Grants & Awards database by keyword, genre (e.g. children’s literature, poetry, journalism, etc.), type of listing or deadline. This database is accessible by username and password. If you have questions about using it, please contact reference staff.

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts covers literature about the study of language and linguistics, providing abstracts and citations of articles, book reviews, books, dissertations and working papers from over 1,500 titles published internationally.

Arte Público Hispanic Historical Collection on Trial
Arte Público includes 60,000 historical articles, hundreds of political and religious pamphlets and broadsides, complete texts of over 1,100 historical books of Hispanic literature, political commentary and culture, memoirs, correspondences, hand-written speeches, sermons, etc. Content is 80% Spanish & 20% English (both are indexed).
