Turfgrass Information File

The Libraries have added Turfgrass Information File (TGIF). A collaboration between the United States Golf Association Turfgrass Research Committee and Michigan State University Libraries, TGIF provides bibliographic references to annual research reports, conference proceedings, trade publications, scientific journals, field day programs, and newsletters pertaining to turfgrass and its maintenance.

Plant Management Network – New Database Added

The Plant Management Network includes four journals, a collection of images of pests, proceedings of agriculture meetings, Insect Management Tests, Plant Disease Management Tests, and other plant and crop resources produced by a non-profit network of societies and institutions. You can search across journals or subject collections of resources.

New Business Resource – Plunkett Research Online

Plunkett Research Online provides industry sector analysis and research, as well as information on industry trends, industry statistics, top companies in the industry, export companies and trade and export associations. You can run and save a search, build a prospect list or run a report comparing companies.

Environmental Resource Handbook

The Libraries have recently added Environment Resource Handbook to our online reference collection. This directory provides contact information, website, organization type, executives and description for over 7,000 associations, organizations & government agencies, awards & honors, conferences & trade shows, goundations & charities, national parks & , wildlife refuges, research centers & educational programs, legal resources, etc. You can easily browse, search and download data from the directory.

Global Road Warrior

A travel guide with an emphasis on logistics and business etiquette, Global Road Warrior is a new Libraries database subscription. Browse by country or topic and find country facts, business culture, money and banking, technical/internet, embassies/consultants, essential terms and other information of note to the business traveler.

Naxos Video Library – New Subscription

The Libraries have purchased a subscription to Naxos Video Library for 5 simultaneous users. This database provides streaming video of classical music performances, opera, ballet, live concerts and documentaries. It requires that your computer runs Adobe Flash 10.

New Video Libraries: Dance in Video and Opera in Video

We have added web-based video collections from Alexander Street Press. Dance in Video has dance performances as well as documentaries about dance produced since the 1950’s.  Opera in Video offers opera stage productions, interviews and documentaries. You can browse or search for content by genre, material type, ensembles, roles, venues and more. Ready-made playlists are available, or you can create your own.

KLD Global Socrates: a new database on corporate social responsibility

The KLD Global Socrates database provides researchers with data on company performance and major initiatives in the areas of human rights, anti-competitive practices, business ethics, employee safety, climate change and non-carbon emissions, effluents and waste. It also covers major controversies and corporate policies. You can find what businesses a company is involved with and how it compares with peers in that sector.

Latin American Newspapers

By virtue of our membership with the Center for Research Libraries, we now offer Latin American Newspapers, a collection of thirty-five newspapers published between 1805-1922 in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, and elsewhere. You can search in individual , several or all of the newspapers simultaneously.
