The e-reference source, Encyclopedia of Inland Waters contains over 240 articles on topics of interest to students and researchers in aquatic biology and ecology, or those people managing water resources. You can browse the articles by subject classification, author, article title or subject index, and you can search the full-text of the source as well.

Guide to Reference Added

The Libraries have a new subscription to Guide to Reference. Published by the American Library Association, this is a reference work of reference works. Reference librarians and subject experts have selected over 16,000 sources, print and electronic, free and fee-based. You can browse entries by subject area or type of resource, or search by keyword. Entries include citation information and abstract. If you create an account, you can keep your own notes and make lists.

New Business Resource on Product Launches

Product Launch Analytics provides manufacturer, product information and market details for food and beverage, household, personal care, pet and animal feed, tobacco and other consumer products introduced in countries around the world. You can search by keyword, brand and product name, or browse by tag, category, distribution countries, ingredients, packaging, and much more. The database includes products released in the past 5 years.

New Source of U.S. Government Technical Reports

The TRAIL (Technical Report Archive and Image Library) database, a joint project of the Center for Research Libraries, the Greater Western Library Alliance and the University of Washington Libraries, includes full-text of U.S. government technical reports published before 1975. You can conduct a simple keyword search, or an advanced search for terms in the author, title, year, and issuing agency fields.

Perdita Manuscripts

Through an expanded Renaissance Center subscription, UMass community members now have access to the Perdita Manuscripts. With reproductions of over 230 manuscripts written or compiled by women in the British Isles during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, this collection includes account books, medical writings, sermon notes, travel writing and many other types of writing. You can browse by alphabetical listing, genre, date, language and more.

Encyclopedia of Animal Science Added

The Libraries have purchased the online version of Encyclopedia of Animal Science. Covering topics related to biology, production and the use of animals and their products, the nearly 300 entries in this database can be browsed by title, contributor or date, or you can do a full-text search.
