mefdigital Streaming Video

The Libraries now have unlimited simultaneous access to mefdigital, the Media Education Foundation’s streaming video service via their partnership with Kanopy Distribution, a web-based streaming media platform. The Libraries subscribe to the Full MEF Database, which consists of most films in the MEF catalog.

New titles will be added to the collection as they become available – approximately 10 new full titles each year and MEF plans to add lectures, interviews, and shorter modules regularly.

Media Education Foundation produces and distributes documentary films and other educational resources to inspire critical thinking about the social, political, and cultural impact of American mass media. (MEF Mission Statement)

The Paley Center Seminars is a video collection of interviews with people in the television industry about the processes of television production, the impact of media on contemporary society, and more. Full transcriptions and detailed indexing allow searching for topics, titles or speakers.

The trial continues through November 30th, 2010. Contact Jim Kelly, Film Studies Liaison Librarian, at 413-545-3981 with questions or comments.
