Encyclopedia of Political Theory Added

The Libraries have recently acquired the electronic version of the Encyclopedia of Political Theory. This reference work has 475 articles about theorists, schools, concepts and topics. You can browse these articles by thematic category, an A-Z list of entries, or subject index. You can also search the text, or the title, contributor or further readings fields.

Two New Political Science Databases

The Libraries now subscribe to Worldwide Political Science Abstracts and PQ Political Science, both from ProQuest. Worldwide Political Science Abstracts (WPSA) provides indexing and abstracts to the contents of over 1,500 serials, as well as books, book chapters, dissertations and work papers. As the title suggests, coverage is international. PQ Political Science provides full-text content of many of the core titles included in WPSA and 150 journals in all.

LexisNexis Congressional: Hearings and more since 1824

LexisNexis Congressional,  an important new addition to our database holdings, covers committee rosters and general information for the current Congress; committee schedules since 1996; committee hearings since 1824; committee prints since 1830; Congressional Record since 1985; Congresssional Research Service Reports since 1916; laws, bills and legislative histories since 1789; Regulations since 1980; and much more.

Trial for AtoZ World Culture

AtoZ World Culture overviews of 175 countries, with information on climate & geography, demographics, political system, history, money, communications, travel, culture (including business), and maps & flags. The standard interface is an alphabetical list by country name, but you can also search for keywords.

Issued each month by the Superintendent of Documents for the Government Printing Office, the Catalog lists all government publications and provides both full-text records and page images of the original catalog.

Government Directories Available through GovSearch

Contact information for people in municipal, county, state and federal government positions is now available through the online GovSearch directory. You can search by personal name, position, offices, services; browse for news on elections, federal nominations or the economic stimulus program; or find your elected representatives from federal to municipal levels.

Trial of LexisNexis Congressional

LexisNexis Congressional provides a comprehensive record of all Senate and House committee hearings, prints,  documents and reports since 1970. You can search for legislative histories, bills and laws, and look up committee memberships in both chambers. LexisNexis Congressional also includes the daily Congressional record and rules.
