UMass has a vibrant and growing community of neuroscientists on campus and is a leader in neuroscience research and education in western Massachusetts. The Neurosciences at UMass span several schools and departments within those schools. The Initiative on Neurosciences (IONs) provides an umbrella for the many faces of Neuroscience on campus. It sponsors conferences, forums, lectures, and public events. IONs provides small grants for collaborative research in the neurosciences. IONs is supported by the College of Natural Sciences, the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences, and the College of Engineering.
IONs is committed to promoting equity in the sciences and our academic community.
