Jabberwocky is organized each year into four teams: Fiction, Nonfiction and Literary Criticism, Poetry, and Media. Each team has a Head and Assistant Head editor as well as several general editors. Our Admin Team provides centralized decision-making and helps oversee the forward-facing aspects of the journal. For more information on each of the teams and how to apply, check out our Apply to join our staff section on the homepage.

Fiction Team

Hi I’m Julia! I love traveling and exploring new places, baking new recipes, reading, and spending time with my cat!

Hi, I’m Ailish! Beyond reading and writing, I love to hike, cook, and make various forms of art whenever I can! On most days you can find me playing Bananagrams, missing my cat Lando, or lurking around Amherst Books and/or Amherst Cinema!

Emerson (he/she/they), one of the Fiction Editors for the 2025 edition, is a sophomore working towards dual degrees in Chemistry and English with a Concentration in Creative Writing, all while minoring in Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies. Emerson loves all things outdoors and finds the greatest joy when hiking on The Presidential Range. On top of that, there’s rarely a day when she isn’t rock climbing with friends. When not at college, he loves spreading their own joy for learning, working as a substitute teacher at her old elementary school during the winter and working as a camp counselor during the summer. Emerson loves writing, using it to better understand themselves and others, overall hoping to share the benefits of diversity and difference in their writing.

Kate, a Fiction editor for the 2025 edition, is a freshman Communications major and a Libra. She enjoys reading books that make her brain hurt, looking at the moon and occasionally, gonggi. She also loves trivia and skiing the East. This is her first year on the Jabberwocky team.

Hi I’m Marissa! I play the flute and enjoy spending time with my cats. I like reading fantasy novels, and I can’t seem to stop myself from making anything I write relate to Arthurian legend. I love talking about my favorite movies and Webtoons, and my current obsessions are Baldur’s Gate 3 and TLoZ Tears of the Kingdom.
Criticism/Nonfiction Team

Hi, I’m Olivia! In my free time outside of Jabberwocky and classes, I host two radio shows at WMUA, cook, and rock climb. I also love going to the movies, antique shopping, and listening to my vinyl soundtrack collection!

Hello! I am a junior from Connecticut and in my free time, you will find me reading, journaling, or watching movies. I can talk forever about Taylor Jenkins Reid’s Daisy Jones and the Six and will not shut up about my cat, Milton, who just so happens to be the most handsome cat in the world. I am a Glee Encyclopedia and if music is playing, I will be annoying my friends and letting them know if the song has been played on Glee.

Hi, I’m Angie! I am an avid lover of funny-looking scarves, cows, and ranch dressing. As an English major, I am often reading or writing, but I also love collaging, playing piano, and nature walks. I am often spotted around campus listening solemnly to Joan Baez and reading Ocean Vuong.
Poetry Team

Gianna Leidich, the Head Poetry Editor, is a junior studying English and Computer Science and pursuing the Professional Writing and Technical Communications certificate. When she isn’t working or studying, Gianna enjoys reading fantasy and contemporary novels, going out with friends, drinking boba tea, and playing video games.

Cloudia is a Libra who has a love-hate relationship with English! She enjoys singing and playing guitar in random places and on her off time reads and writes poetry. They are likely to be found roaming Orchard Hill or the Sylvan path.

Danielle is a senior English and Legal Studies dual degree candidate. She gravitates primarily both towards reading and writing surrealist poetry. Her favorite poets include Tongo Eisen-Martin, Alice Notley, and Ocean Vuong. On campus, she also serves as a writing center tutor. For fun, Danielle enjoys finding recipes with matcha or finding corgis to pet.

Meet Douglas. After studying abroad in London his Freshman Year, he came home with dozens of books and an even greater sense of anticipation for continuing his studies. When he isn’t writing reports on Bronze-Age cities or why Nephilim didn’t build the Pyramids he can be found reading one of the hundred books he has checked out from the du Bois (as of writing this the number is 94), along with everything from Jorge Luis Borges to Hugo Pratt’s Corto Maltese comics. When at home he can be found spending time with his two dogs and two cats or playing one of many Tabletop RPGs with his friends.

Lilah, one of the poetry editors for the 2025 edition, is a junior studying English with a concentration in creative writing, she is also working towards minors in comparative literature and business. Lilah loves crossword puzzles, her incredibly dumb dog, Atlas, and (surprise) writing poetry. This is her first year on the Jabberwocky staff, in addition to being a poetry editor she is also on the social media team and the layout and design team.

Hi everyone! My name is Robbie and I’m a junior English major from Middlebury, VT. In my spare time, I like listening to Simon & Garfunkel, Van Morrison, and Bon Iver. I also like playing guitar and I know way too much about Lord of the Rings and Beowulf. Some of my favorite poets are Seamus Heaney, Tongo Eisen-Martin, and John Ashbery.

Hi, my name is Russell, like that kid from the Up movie. I am an english major, so I obviously enjoy reading and writing (I just started slowly working on a novel!) but I also love to play video games, especially Wizard101 and Dead by Daylight, go ice skating and roller blading, find new places to sit and observe nature, paint, and so on. I listen to music 24/7 and I have a concerning connection to coffee and nostalgia. I am excited and honored to join the Jabberwocky staff this year!
