2020-22 Chancellor’s Leadership Fellow (UMass)
- Authored a 26-page report on the current First-Year Seminar (FYS) and Faculty First-Year Seminar (FFYS) programs at UMass.
- Met with over 50 stakeholders on campus to research ways to improve the current FYS and FFYS programs.
- Met with 5 leaders at other schools to research other FYS models.
- Authored a 25-slide Power Point with six recommendations for changes to the UMass FYS program
- Worked with campus leaders to implement these changes.
2015-18, 2006-9 Director, University of Massachusetts Oxford Summer Seminar at Trinity College
- Handled all aspects of the program including recruiting 40-50 students each summer, hiring faculty, scheduling classes, organizing field trips, and managing the roughly $500,000-dollar budget.
- Started Seminar’s Hofer Endowment, which now exceeds a balance of $100,000.
- Organized a 100-person celebration for the program’s 50th anniversary (2016).
- Revised and expanded Seminar website and promotional materials (2006).
2014-16 Director, Alumni Outreach and Publicity, Department of English (UMass)
- Redesigned the departmental newsletter and increased its circulation.
- Organized and inaugurated a yearly alumni/student mixer to connect current students with recent alumni from the department
- Managed mailing of thank you notes to departmental donors
2008-11 Director, Undergraduate Studies, Department of English (UMass)
- Oversaw the revision of the department’s major and help to update its course offerings with the addition of eight classes that included African American Literature, Caribbean Literature, American Indian Literature, Studies in Autobiography, Post-Colonial Theory, Contemporary Literature, History of the Book, and Studies in Textuality and New Media.
- Expanded promotional material and attended recruitment fairs for prospective students.
- Managed advising for roughly 750 majors.
