Dr. Jianyu Li serves as an Extension Assistant Professor at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, University of Massachusetts Amherst. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Protection from Hebei Agricultural University, China, in 2013, followed by a Master of Science from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) in 2016, and a PhD from the University of Florida in 2021. Before joining UMass, Dr. Li held roles as a Scientist III and Crop Research Lead at Plenty Unlimited Inc., a cutting-edge indoor vertical farming company, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he researched culinary herb production in controlled environment agriculture.
Originally from Tangshan, Hebei Province, China, Dr. Li enjoys playing guitar, tennis, skiing, snowboarding, and exploring new destinations through travel.
