1 µL SYBR Safe / 10 mL gel
Invitrogen S33102 – cheaper at Fisher than Thermo
*Add weighed agarose to measured TAE in a flask (about half the maximum volume of the flask)
*Heat in the microwave at full power until it just barely starts to boil.
*Boil in the microwave CAREFULLY (power level 0.1) until completely dissolved (check by swirling) DO NOT LET IT BOIL OVER
*Allow to cool slightly
*Add SYBR-safe
*Aliquot into 50 mL conical tubes
*Put in rack in 65C waterbath
Clean-up
Everything can go in the trash or down the drain
