Semantics position at UCLA

The UCLA Department of Linguistics seeks to fill a ladder faculty position, starting July 1, 2017, for a specialist in formal semantics who engages with linguistic theory. This is an open rank search with preference for a junior appointment, but applications from strongly qualified senior candidates are welcome.Candidate should have an outstanding record in research and teaching. Course load (normally four per year) will include graduate and undergraduate courses as well as graduate student advising. Especially in the case of senior candidates, we welcome applications from scholars who have contributed to equity and diversity efforts in teaching and/or service; whose research addresses issues concerning diversity; and/or who have experience in mentoring women and minorities. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.Ph.D. is required before date of hire. Applicants should provide a brief cover letter; curriculum vitae; a research statement; three representative research papers; a description of teaching philosophy; and course evaluations or other material bearing on teaching record.
