Charles Mills delivers first Gary Matthews Memorial Lecture

The Department of Philosophy welcomes Professor Charles W. Mills for the Inaugural Gary Matthews Memorial Lecture, entitled “Race and Justice”. Charles W. Mills is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the CUNY Graduate Center. He works in the general area of oppositional political theory, with a particular focus on race. He is the author of five books. His latest book, forthcoming in 2017 from Oxford University Press, is Black Rights/White Wrongs: The Critique of Racial Liberalism.
