In December, Joe Pater delivered a course on “Harmonic Grammar: Models and Methods” at IIT Guwahati, in Assam India. The course was attended by students from across the country, and was sponsored by the Indian Government under the Global Initiatives in Academic Networks (GIAN) program. The visit was organized by Shakuntala Mahanta, Linguistics faculty at IIT Guwahati, who recently spent a year as a visiting Fulbright scholar at UMass Amherst.
