As reported this week in an article by the UMass Amherst news service, the Department of Linguistics has been ranked #2 in the QS World University rankings (https://www.umass.edu/newsoffice/article/umass-amherst-linguistics-department-moves), up from a #3 ranking last year. Our Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy had this to say:

Once again, the scope and breadth of research and teaching by our outstanding linguistics department has earned international recognition as one of the top programs in the world.
