Joe Pater will be playing in two upcoming events in Northampton. Tomorrow, June 21, at 5 pm, he will be participating in the celebration of the international Fête de la Musique being held on the Forbes Library lawn (he is “Vernon Valiquette” https://forbeslibrary.libcal.com/event/4227988). And on July 5th, he will be playing with Les Dérailleurs at the Sierra Grille, celebrating their EP release (preview here: https://soundcloud.com/les-derailleurs/). On drums is Jeremy Smith of UMass Libraries, and on bass is Frank Vaissière of Amherst Regional High School. The writing on the wall says “Reanimate the Baystate”. Alums may remember the Baystate Hotel as the run-down epicenter of an exciting local music scene in the 1990s. It is now an upscale restaurant, but a bit of the old Baystate spirit can be found in this Thursday local music night.
