Bettina Braun (University of Konstanz) is visiting until May 3. Her research focus is on prosody and intonation. Here are a few words from her website:

“My research focus lies in the area of prosody and intonation. For instance, I work on the question which intonational contrasts there are and how they are phonetically realized and what their meaning contribution is. I am also studying how listeners (adults, children, non-native listeners) process prosody and intonation. This touches upon the question how intonational information is integrated with lexico-semantic information. and which effect(s) the native language has on the adquisition of prosody and intonation in second language acquisition.”

Bettina will give a talk at the Five Colleges Prosody Community Meeting on May 2.
