On July 26th, Alex Nazarov successfully defended his dissertation “Extending Hidden Structure Learning: Features, Opacity, and Exceptions”. The committee consisted of Gaja Jarosz (co-chair), John McCarthy, Joe Pater (co-chair), David Smith (Computer Science) and Kristine Yu. He’s taking up a lectureship at Harvard this academic year.
