All students registered for credit will be expected to:

1. Read the assigned papers in advance of the designated class, and participate in discussion.

2. Post at least 5 questions or comments to the blog over the course of the semester.

3. Present one paper in a 20-minute presentation slot.

4. Post a very short summary/critique of that paper, and one other, on the blog (annotated bibliography)

5. Design a web-based experiment on phonological and/or visual concept learning, and work towards completing it. At a minimum, this work should include preparation of the stimuli, ideally, it would go all the way through data collection and analysis.

6. Present the experiment in class.

7. Write up a 10-15 pp. presentation of the experiment as a final paper.

You will be expected to follow the UMass academic honesty guidelines. In the case of this course, we encourage students to collaborate wherever possible, but the writing and oral presentations must be done individually.

Auditors are asked to participate as fully as they can.
