Abstract:
This project aims to automate the process of filling six sports bottles without removing the caps. This will allow athletic staff to attend to other sideline duties. The automatic sports bottle filler version 2.0 builds upon the previous project iteration. The primary issues with version 1.0 were even flow and flow cutoff. Version 1.0’s main issue was even flow distribution among the six bottles. The first two bottles would fill up first and overflow. The water cutoff system was based upon the weight of the six ideally filled bottles. Since the bottles were never filled to that ideal value the water would be cut off at the wrong time. This product does not currently exist due to the challenge of filling the bottles without removing the caps. Most automated water bottle fillers are sensor based but still require cap removal. Our approach to solving this problem is by trusting our analytical process and trusting our calculations to build a device that can fulfill our customers’ requirements in a timely manner.
