In class, I thought you had said that we did not need to know how to construct the group orbitals – should we not worry about the parts of the homework questions that ask us to draw group orbitals?
I will give you the LGOs whenever they are needed. I see that problem 5.18 (ozone) does not give you the LGOs ahead of time – if such a problem were on the exam, I would remedy that oversight.
You should recognize the shape and phase of the LGOs, and be able to make MOs with the central atom (or nonbonding MOs if appropriate).
