New NSF Grant!

Our NSF Proposal “Exploiting the paradoxical effect of surface roughness on the interfacial pinning of colloids to engineer stimuli responsive emulsions” has been funded by the NSF Particulate & Multiphase Processes Program. We’re excited to develop rough colloids for stimuli responsive emulsions, with the long term goal of using them for environmental remediation. More information about the award can be found here.

New NSF Grant!

Our NSF Proposal “Cloaking Anisotropic Capillary Interactions Through Tunable Nanoscale Surface Topography” has been funded by the NSF Nanoscale Interactions Program. We’re excited to continue working towards developing novel 2D materials using colloids with engineered shape & surface topography! More information about the award can be found here.

NSF CAREER Awarded!

Our NSF CAREER proposal was recommended for funding! Very excited to continue working with phospholipid bilayer membranes and in particular investigate the rheology of crowded systems. More information about our award can be found here. It was also an awesome year for our department!

ACS-PRF DNI Funded!

The first external grant for the lab has been awarded from the ACS-PRF! We will be developing interferometric methods to perform in situ characterization of particle pinning at fluid interfaces under external fields.
