Heather successfully defends her PhD!
Heather Hamilton gave an excellent presentation on her thesis “Bottom-up Morphological Control of Polymer Particles via Heterogeneous Polymerization”. Heather was primarily advised by Laura Bradley in PSE and became coadvised to spend the last few months of her PhD in the Beltramo group. Congratulations Heather! Heather will be starting a job as the Microscopy Center Director at Mount Holyoke College.

Welcome Deepa & Anis!
Deepa and Anis have joined the Beltramo group to work on their MS and PhD, respectively. Deepa is working on a project to perform electrospinning using colloidal suspensions, joint with Prof. Jessica Schiffman. Anis will be synthesizing polymer ellipsoids with novel surface features and studying their behavior at fluid interfaces. Welcome!

It was great to finally be able to get together for a celebration for all the groups accomplishments during the pandemic, from Paige/Guinevere/Shreyas completing their MS, to several papers published, to our NSF CAREER being awarded!
It’s been a busy spring/summer for our MS students as both Guinevere and Shreyas successfully defended their MS thesis. Congratulations! Shreyas will be starting a job as a Bioprocess Engineer at GALY, while Guinevere will be pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering at UMass Amherst.
