Assistant Professor in Department of Medicine and Center for Health AI at University of Colorado, Anschutz.
Fan did her Postdoc research with Dr. Soumya Raychaudhuri on using computational single-cell multi-omics to study autoimmune diseases at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Broad Institute of Harvard/MIT (2017 – 2021). Fan is also an Investigator involved in the NIH-funded Accelerating Medicines Partnership Rheumatoid Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (AMP RA/SLE) network. In the AMP Systems Biology Group, Fan leads on developing computational strategies to integrate single-cell multimodal and multi-disease data to define phenotypes of tissue inflammation. Before that, Fan completed her Ph.D. (2013-2017) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts. She developed novel statistical machine learning models in the fields of variational inference and mixed-membership matrix factorization with Dr. Patrick Flaherty to characterize patient heterogeneity using large-scale genomic data.
