Description: This demonstration shows the conservation of mechanical energy.
It also shows objects with different moments of inertia accelerate at different speeds.

Equipment:

• Wooden Ramp
• Round sphere, Disk, and Open ring with same diameter
• Meter sick

Demonstration Procedure:

1. Position the three objects on the top of the ramp and hold them there with a meter stick.
2. When ready, release the meter stick so all objects start at the same time.
3. Note which ones move down the ramp the fastest.
