5E40.25-Fruit and Vegetable Battery

Description: This demonstration uses the energy of two fruit to power a clock.

Equipment:

• Two fruit (such as lemons or oranges).
• Fruit Clock

Setup Procedure:

1. Just remember to get the fruit.

Demonstration Procedure:

1. Show that the clock is not on.
2. Stick the copper and galvanized steel electrodes into a fruit as shown in the picture.
3. Note that the clock is now being powered off two fruit.
