Fun to catch up with former group member Tom Alexander (Master’s from UMass for work on DarkSide) while visiting PNNL for a nEXO review. Tom is Team Lead and an expert in techniques using rare noble gases in a variety of applications. He also showcases the most outrageous Holiday sweaters.

Former group postdoc Wesley Gillis visited us with four undergrads from Bates College (Sander Katz, Carson Moellering, Peter Nguyen, Albert Wang), where he is Visiting Assistant Professor of physics. The Bates team worked with us for a week, installing a much needed LED flasher to our LXe system and participating in a xenon liquefaction run, getting involved in data analysis and detector modeling.

May 2023 – Former group member Mark Lewis returns to campus to visits his old lab in which he spent more than three years as an undergrad and which has moved from LGRT to PSB since he left. It was fun to show him around and recall some fun memories. Good luck with your Spanish adventure, Mark!
April 2023 – Fun to see former lab member Dan Kodroff at the APS meeting in Minneapolis. Dan presented a comprehensive update on radioactive backgrounds in the LZ experiment and is close to completing his PhD at Penn State.
November 2022 – Fun to catch up with former group undergraduate student Mark Lewis, who is about to complete his PhD in the Collar group at the University of Chicago.
