I can’t believe this is our last day in Ireland. It’s been such an amazing experience and I’m very sad to leave this beautiful  country.

Welcome to Galway!

On Sunday we arrived in the beautiful city of Galway. It is absolutely gorgeous here. The city is right on the water and has a little city center that reminds me of the North End in Boston. It feels like I’m at the Cape, Boston Harbor, and the North End all at the same time. It’s absolutely spectacular, not to mention the weather has been grand since we’ve arrived. Ireland: The green and grand country

The rest of this week has been such a blast! I’ve seen and learned so much about Ireland and disabilities in the past few days. It’s been fantastic getting to know all the girls on the trip, and we all seem to get along very well. All the local people are friendly and helpful, which I’ve also really appreciated. Services and Spending

Today we were fortunate enough to receive a presentation from Dr. Christine Linehan, who is the director of the Centre for Disability Studies at UCD. Her presentation was excellent. She was able to present information in an evidence based, clear, and straightforward manner that made the material easy to understand. Her evidence consisted of various statistics relating to the field on disabilities on a national and international scale. Continue reading Services and Spending
