Luckily, I am not the only one since multiple people attending the conference have asked “what is a psychosocial disability?”. Lots to learn in Galway
While exploring the streets of Galway on Sunday, I walked past a woman with a vibrant Mohawk. As someone who enjoys people-watching, I immediately admired her confidence and wondered what her story was. Occupational Therapy at Trinity College
Just like back home, finding employment opportunities and higher education opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Ireland is difficult. Those who find education opportunities in the states usually audit classes or do not receive a degree. The Wheel(Chairs) on the Bus
Dublin is such a breath-taking city. From the varied architecture, local bars, and historic sites, there is always something to do or somewhere to be. While University College Dublin (UCD) is a bit far from the center, having a bus stop just a few minutes away has been a major advantage. Using public transportation has been an experience, but I can’t help but notice how Dublin’s public transportation system can impact the quality of life for people with disabilities living here.
