RADIUS combines the storytelling and instructive skills of students in the UMass Amherst MFA for Poets and Writers with local communities throughout Massachusetts and its neighborhoods.
Workshops are conducted by MFA volunteers with individuals and in community centers. Currently, RADIUS is working with the Care Center in Holyoke to create an entirely student-made podcast within eight weeks.
RADIUS is sponsored by NEPR/MediaLab, the Creative Economy Fund from the UMass President’s office, the MFA for Poets and Writers, the English Department, and the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at UMass Amherst.
