What a great kickoff to the semester! From the actual kickoff at the Battle of the Bay State football game last weekend, to the many SAA events soon to come our way, you can bet that our members are, as always, in high spirits and ready to get back in action. This past Monday, we hosted our biannual open house in Memorial Hall, and we had many new members that seemed highly engaged and already open to new opportunities and ways to get involved within SAA. That being said, we are always welcoming new members and seeking ways to increase campus and community engagement.

The Multicolor Mile!
The Nearly Naked Mile…COLOR RUN??? That’s right! Our Vice President of Traditions, Rose Arslanian, along with our fall traditions chairs, Jenny Riordan and Becca Munro, have added a new twist to this annual campus event. We want to make this event as exciting and memorable as possible. The cost to sign up this year is only $8, so come on down!
Football!
Planning to attend a football game this fall? Find many of our SAA ambassadors working the games, and feel free to approach any of us and ask about SAA and our ambassador program. We are more than happy to share our SAA stories with you! This past weekend, five of our ambassadors, Lucy Armstrong, Sara Hickey, Natalia Trikoz, Alec Dubrowsky, and Colleen Madden, had the opportunity to work the game at Gillette, and it was an outstanding turnout. The UMass fan side of the stadium was packed with passionate students and Alumni, all sharing a love for our magnificent flagship school.
Homecoming
SAA is prepared to welcome back our alumni to campus. You will find a prominent SAA presence during this weekend, especially at the homecoming parade!
Bears that Care
Bears that Care is our annual holiday stuffed animal drive that supports local children in hospitals and shelters. Our Engagement Chair, Helen Root will be working hard to run and organize this effective cause.
