From PowerPoint slides to Prezi

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe I’ve given up trying to use PowerPoint entirely.

Microsoft PowerPoint is an excellent program altogether, yet every nuance in my curriculum planning wants to use Prezi to visualize and implement my lessons. There’s something about seamless graphics, exciting colors, and moving topics that makes even the most boring lesson… well.. a little less boring.

Developing presentations using this software is hit or miss at times. However, in my .. 5 years?.. of using this tool I’ve found more value in its ability to function as educational software. Think about it:

  • Seamless and quick presentation editing
  • Compatible with all of your previous boring PowerPoints.
  • Easy to learn, a challenge to put your imagination into!
  • Easy image uploading. Multimedia ready
  • Easy to use for students as well.

In the sciences, visualizing concepts is important. Even a National Geographic photo added to a slide makes for a bit more luster. I find the setup similar to that of a popular magazine at times, and even arrange image catalogs to use during lessons.

Warning:

NOT every transition is flawless, and the largest bug is not being able to use Prezi offline forĀ free, but the online tool offers a nice amount of storage to make up for the latter.
