SpanPort majors and minors listened to students returning from study abroad in Salamanca, San Sebastián, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, and other destinations. Over 75 students attended our fair and asked questions about courses they can take abroad, housing, and travel opportunities. Recently, two of our majors received Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships. The Gilman Scholarship, offered by the U.S. Department of State, is very competitive, but your chances will be higher if you follow some tips offered by Mary D. (Psychology and Spanish) and Glorimar E. (Sociology and Portuguese).

Camille M. answered our questions about her experience in Buenos Aires. She enjoyed living with a host family and traveling around in Argentina and to neighbor countries Uruguay, Perú and Chile.
This is one of the questions many SpanPort advisors get from student-Athletes. We are compiling three stories from our sister blog SpanPort Integrative Experience. Mary L. is very explicit, “¡Sí se puede! Students-Athletes CAN and (should) go abroad”. A Spanish major was able to fulfill her dream and studied in our sponsored program in Buenos Aires. Finally, another student tells us her experience in a summer study abroad program especially designed for Athletes in Costa Rica.
